Join LMForums

The place of learning, debate and networking for Insurance Practitioners.

Welcome to this latest edition of LMF Points of View. We’ve assembled some genuinely insightful content from our Members, which we hope you’ll find thought-provoking and interesting. We continue to aspire to help the Market learn, network and collaborate on and around topics that are most pertinent to you and your firm, helping us all to grow and develop in this unique trading environment.

At LMF, we are very fortunate to meet so many amazing people throughout each year, from leading professionals in the Market to those at the beginning of their careers, to those from outside the sector who can add genuine value to the EC3 conversation, from the world of technology, law, consulting, cyber, the military and government.

Over the last few months, we’ve seen a lot of conversation around Gen AI and Agentic AI, and our members have heard from leading commentators in this space, at roundtable breakfasts and other gatherings.

Our specialist Market Gen AI Working Group continues to grow, and we now have over twenty Market firms participating. In March we partnered with Aon Reinsurance Solutions to host the first-ever Legacy 2.0 Summit at the beautiful Bishopsgate Institute. It was a room full of the Market’s most seasoned professionals in this space and there were some genuinely open discussions about the future legacy market landscape.

We were grateful to contributions from Rachel Turk, Chief Underwriting Officer at Lloyd’s and Dominic Christian, Chairman of Aon Reinsurance Solutions and a whole host of CEOs and CUOs. Another highlight of the year, so far, has been the formation of our Leaders of Tomorrow Advisory Group, who will help shape our learning content for the young professionals who are part of the LMF community.

This ensures that our Leaders of Tomorrow Programme is relevant and adds value to all those who participate. Thanks to our friends at Allied World for hosting us in the Walkie Talkie. Allied World’s support for the Leaders of Tomorrow programme over many years, has been exceptional.

In April we held a most interesting event in the Old Library, supported by LMF Corporate Member, Novidea.

This gathering of senior Market professionals, alongside those younger members of the EC3 community, focused on talent and how we grow, develop and attract new talent in the London Market. Thanks to Dr Paul Furey for his keynote speech. For the outcomes from this session, CLICK HERE.

A most enjoyable time during the first half of 2025 has been the recording of the next edition of the Market People Podcast with our friends from VIPR Solutions. I spoke with VIPR Solutions, CEO, Paul Templar, about the Delegated Authority market and the transformations underway, enabled by technology, as well as real growth in the sector. Well worth a listen –

The highlight of the year, so far, has to be the Market People Awards – our biggest and boldest Awards event ever, with over 320 of the London Market’s finest in the room, from CEOs and Chief Underwriting Officers, to young professionals who are showing enormous potential in their early years in the Market, to the many amazing suppliers and advisers who support the EC3 community to make it the special marketplace we all love. The Awards are all about identifying the talent who make our Market special and the 23 winners are certainly individuals and firms who stand out. Well done to all our finalists, those Highly Commended and our winners. A big thank you to Velonetic, our Headline Sponsor, and all our sponsors and supporters.

Our charity of the year for 2025 is Support Dogs, and through the kindly generosity of those who attended our Great Gatsby 1920’s styled Awards gathering, at the impressive Plaisterers’ Hall in the City of London, we raised over £6,200 in one evening. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets for the Grand Prize Draw, or who took part in the Silent Auction. Your support will make a lot of difference. For all the output from the Awards, including pictures, videos, and the list of those entering the Market People Hall of Fame, CLICK HERE.

If you’re not already part of the LMF Community, join us today. All educational events are free, and membership is also free. During the rest of Q3 and throughout Q4, we’ll have a range of Summits and roundtables, plus social events, so join in and be part of something special. Over the decade of being at the heart of the London Market, we’ve built up thousands of members and followers, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn and expand your network.
